Christmas Stocking Update

Ok, the body of the stocking is done. Now for the cuff and lining. I suppose I could add more to it but I think I like it this way. The back is green velvet. Not much else to tell, click for a closer look. Enjoy.

Christmas Stocking Update

Another update on the Christmas stocking. I know I am not as fast as some others are but she is getting done. LOL.

Here I used some organza ribbon for a bow then tacked it down with pearls (from an old necklace and seed (golden) and bugle (green) beads. Above the bow is a re-purposed blue earring, which I cut the back off of and stitched down.

Now I am working on the rose lace, have added the same pearls to the center and am beading the petals of the flowers. Will show that to you shortly.

OH, BTW.....I found the lost motif, the chair ate it.........didn't want to give it up either, but I won so it is now on the stocking awaiting it's picture to be taken.

Christmas Stocking Update

The poinsettia is done and I am very happy with how it turned out. The gold rick rack seam is finished, french knots made with Sassa Lynne thread, fine Perle, it is hand dyed and this one is Rhubarb & Custard. Next also in Sassa Lynne thread, fine Perle, is the variegated hand dyed Sherwood Forest which I worked in a star burst pattern.

Remember to click the picture for a closer look. Would you believe I misplaced the motif I had for the heel of the stocking, very big sigh.......I will find it....can't imagine where I put it. LOL.

I better get a move on with this, or it will be next Christmas before it is done. VBG!

I am thinking on putting this on my Etsy shop, should I?

Christmas Stocking Update

In this update you can see I have added to the gold rick rack some lazy dasiy stitches.
The poinsetta is coming along. This is some silk from a buy Susan did. The petal segments are backed with red tule to give them some extra body, the buttonhole stitch around the outside before adding the gold beads, stem stitch thru the center of each petal. Large yellow beads are waiting for the center.
The gold rick rack is not done, just have not decided what else to do. LOL

I am feeling under the gun, Christmas is fast approching and I have not begun the items I had planned..........help!

Appleblossom RR -- final detail on Bonnie's block

Finally I figured out what my last addition would be to Bonnie's block. After crocheting some purple threads around the heart motif to dress it up, the lime green beads go along with other parts of the block and help pull it all together.

Here is the whole block, isn't it a beauty, you can check out the details of it by clicking on the picture to make it bigger. I will be sending the block home later this week. Enjoy.

Appleblossom RR -- another detail on Bonnie's block

Here is another detail on Bonnie's block. Jo put the motif on and suggested that perhaps someone else add to it, so I added the purple beads. I am still trying to figure out my last part to this pretty block.

After a nice 3 day mini vacation I am trying to get caught up on things, but have been slowed down because I pulled something in my lower back/hip area this morning while brushing the dog. Can still get around but very much like a stiff neck, not all movements are comfortable.

Picked up some Fabrico markers over the weekend and have played with them a bit...anyone else have these? What do you think of them? Any suggestions on fun ways to use them? I got them with the idea of dying motifs, the ink doesn't flow from them like I had hoped, will play on yardage later. Thanks for any suggestions.

Appleblossom RR -- Bonnie's block

I am working on Bonnie's block for the Appleblossom RR for my online CQ group CQI. Here are couple of the details I have added. First a flower motif, with motif leaves and feather stitch seam cover with golden beads.

Then in the center where Bonnie had a printed pattern, I used silk and cotton threads so outline it. This block is going into a wedding quilt, what a wonderful gift.

I will share the whole block with you shortly, I still have a spot I am trying to figure out what to do with. Hummmmmmm

Fun Stuff

Yesterday was alot of fun because I got some new stuff for my CQ stash. Giggle!

First some Lumiere paints. We stopped by Big Horn Quilts while on our outting and I picked up a package of paints...today I did a bit of playing and here are the results. I plan to use the flower motif on my Christmas stocking, which I will have an update on for you shortly.

In the mail, some more exciting things.....threads by Sassa Lynne. These are hand dyed Perle cottons. They are beautiful. Susan did a buy and am I glad I joined. To join check here.

A Gift

I wanted to share this lovely chest with you. My MIL brought it to me when they came to visit. I love the shape and of course my favorite colors, pink and green. I have not decided what treasure I will keep in it yet. Thank you Mom.

Hope everyone is having a fun 4th.
