T's Rag Quilt
Finishing touches.
Good grief where does the time go?
I thought it had been only a couple weeks since I last posted.
Well, I guess I did a lot more sewing then I thought as well.
Tristan's quilt is finished.
This one big quilt.
I constructed the top half,
washed and dried it and then
the second half, then joined them together.
Being made of all flannel it is heavy, is also very big,
so to keep from stressing my washing machine I decided to
do it that way, worked out great.
As it washed I stood over the washer with a hand strainer
to help get all of the lint and threads that come loose from
the cut ends. Working the strainer thru the water the whole
time, I did not want this stuff going down the drain and causing a clog.
Then once in the dryer, I checked the filter every 5 minutes or so
You would not believe how much came off this quilt.
It would have clogged the drains for sure.
I like how it has turned out, and it will be
warm and comforting to Tristan.
Some details below.
There were enough squares left to make a pillow sham,
not washed yet in this picture.
I will also make some pillow cases with remaining fabrics to
complete the set.
Not sure what is next on the quilting horizon.
I did buy a kit several years back and I think I will begin that.
So I guess I will have to let you know what I decide on.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a blessed day.
