Prayer Request ---Update

I want to thank everyone who is praying for Arnie. I have an update, it is not very nice.

*********
Hello everyone, I just wanted to give a quick update on Arnie. Cheri had to rush him into the hospital yesterday morning
He was in alot of pain and very swollen. Cheri said by the time they got to the hospital the cancer was oozing from his eye.
They have admitted him and they have in on some very strong pain meds so at least he has been able to rest.
The doc is going to move his surgery to the very first part of the week next week ( I will keep you posted)
Also please say a prayer for Dillon and Hailey they are going to be telling them about the face deformity tomorrow.
The phys say they should not tell him about the cancer just yet so that will be another blow when they do. I know
kids are resilient but I am very sure this will be hard on them. God bless you all. Love you. Michele

Thank you for your continued prayers.

Cream & White Christmas - details

A couple more details to the Cream & White Christmas, stocking. I will have full pictures next time, I need to pick up my quilt show entries today, which this is one. If you would like to see the other fantastic quilts in the show go here. The pictures for this year are not up yet, but you can see last years, and perhaps visit again in a week or so and see 2008's entries. This is a peoples choice show.

On to the details.

On the front of the stocking is this detail at the toe.

This one is on the back of the stocking, the flowers are made of Sassa Lynn pearl cotton with gold rayon details.

Until later.

Urgent Pray Request

I am asking for prayer for a friend of our family. This is a really hard one to write about.

Please pray for Arney. He has just found out he has cancer, Arney is 40, he is married to Sherry and they have 2 children under 10. What makes this cancer so ugly is that it is in his face. They are going to do surgery which will remove the whole left side of his face, eye, teeth, jaw and down into his neck. If he doesn't have the surgery they give him 4 months. With the surgery he will also undergo chemo and radiation.
You can imagine the emotional turmoil this family is going through. Not only the cancer but the very public deformity. How do you explain these things to children?.
Of course he will no longer be able to work and doing the things he loves, will be at the very least be on hold until he can be rehabilitated again. Will he be able to talk?
Insurance is only going to pay for part of it so now they worry about losing everything.
Please add this family to your prayer list, share this request with all you know.

Several years ago I asked you all to pray for my friends GD and you all spread the word and she is now a happy normal 2 year old. So I am asking for the same for Arney.

Cream & White Christmas Stocking

WAHOOOOOOOO...........the seam treatments are all done on the Cream & White Christmas stocking. I only started it back in August 07. Of course there have been alot of things to disrupt my work on it, but alas it is ready to stitch up. Here you will find details I posted back then, just to get you reacquainted with the stocking, you will find other stockings as well.

Now to some of the finial details. For the treatments below we have cross stitch design done in K.N.K. silk #78 with arrow stitch to decorate the sides, beautiful golden seed beads finish it off.

Next to that I used Sassa Lynne thread in Linen to make up little bow ties, they are pulled together with the same K.N.K silk threads. The rick rack above is held down with rayon thread in gold.

These are the last two seam treatments (though I have others to show you once I can get good pictures) that finish off the stocking.

First is a combination of things, done in Sassa Lynne, Linen, using Carole Samples templates to get the spacing right. The shells are chain stitched with spokes coming out of each chain and a flau pearl at the center, topped off with flowers whose stems are stem stitched, straight stitch leaves and triple french knot flower heads.

Lastly are golden rayon french knots to enhance the pretty lace.

More details to come along with the finished stocking.......
