Quilting

Quilting

White Camo

Oh my goodness, I did not realize so much time had passed
since my last post...it's June already???
We have been so busy and I have been helping DH with
some of his work.
We just got back from a trip of 7 days and the yard looked
like a jungle so I spent the last 2 1/2 days making my way through
the weeds and grass, about 2 more days to go but I am
sewing and blogging this afternoon, the weeds will still be there tomorrow.

I was able to get alot done on our trip, since I spent several days in the trailer
while others were out working the track/race.  Thank goodness for the
person who invented generators.  I got the White Camo quilt top done all except the last
border.

Let me recap a little, with a couple pictures of some of the
embroidery.
The blocks are 12 inches, with a border of 1 inch in the brown.
There are other designs, which I will show you next.

As I mentioned I spent several days in our trailer sewing, that was my
work while others were out working the race.
Here you can see my sewing area (working on the Taz quilt blocks here)
and outside my window some of the winners checking into their check point.
Who knew I would have a front row seat.
Working in the trailer was perfect and I got alot done.
There are 30 blocks in this quilt and they are put together with the green sashing.
I really like the green and brown combo.
The sashings are 1 inch wide.

Some detail shots.....sorry these are not great, my camera is
not the best, though I thought it would be when I bought it, wondering
if a phone might do a better job, I have seen some great
pictures taken with phones.

This picture (below) is pretty cool.  There is a company (online) that
will make you fabric, it is called Spoonflower.  This is a picture
Terry sent me that he wants included in these quilts and I sent
it off and had this printed onto beautiful cotton fabric.
So what do you think?  Cool?
I love it and ordered up some yardage, it would be fun to
create my own designs....something for my bucket list.

Ok, better get sewing...working the Taz quilt, will
post about it in a day or two.

May God Bless and Keep you.

Camo & Taz

Camo & Taz

I have been asked by a friend to make some quilts
I made him one for his wife before Christmas
and they loved it so much that they have
asked me to make 4 more.
Thank you Terry and Billie for your trust and
the honor of making these for you.
The first two quilts are in the works now.

Taz and South Park are themes for one of  the quilts.
Believe it or not it is hard to find Taz fabric,
I did find a small piece (1 1/2 yards) so
we will be adding these fabrics.
The star fabric is for the back of the quilt.
The Taz, blue, cream, pink (just a small amount) and
black (not the brown) are for the front.
I have found some embroidery designs for both
theme ideas to add to it as well.
I will share those at another time.

Next up is the Camo quilt, theme is hunting.
I found this white camo fabric and am in love with it,
to the point I bought some for myself.
The backing fabric is the tree print on the right.
the blocks will be the camo, bordered in brown and then green
I have removed the cream color from the pile.
I really like this combo.
After many hours of shopping (for fabric and embroidery designs)
I found some designs I really like and hope the T&B will like them also
Here is one and the test stitch out
isn't he great?
Terry always wants eagles and flags,
I love this combination.
This camo quilt is about hunting deer and bore hogs
here is one of the deer designs and its
test stitch out.  I have been lucky enough to find
some well done designs.

As I am typing this out, a design is stitching out on the embroidery
machine.  I will have more to share in a day or two.

I spent this morning deciding just how the Taz quilt will be designed
and figuring yardage.  It is up next for cutting and sewing.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter

Samantha!

Book Tote & Lunch Bag

Book Tote & Lunch Bag

Two more projects complete
First a Book/Computer Tote
second
A in the hoop Lunch bag.

First the tote,
the inside pockets, a set for both sides.

The completed tote, made from wool jackets
from the thrift store, washed and dried to felt.
This tote will go to my daughters mentor teacher, for helping her through
her student teaching, her last semester of college.

Next, for my daughter
a lunch bag she requested.
This is an in the hoop project.
Project Tutorial
In the hoop means all parts to the project are made on the embroidery machine
Here the sides are made, placing the lining on the back side
of the hoop (with spray adhesive) then
turning it back over and placing the batting, then the
outside fabric.  Sew this out.  It quilts it, sews all the edges and
the circle, after each part is trimmed.

The little snowman marks where the second side will be placed
see the next picture as the second side is partly sewn out.

This is the flap, outside fabric

 Lining

Lining of the side pieces (on the underside of the hoop)
After making 4 sides, the flap and front and back panels,
time to sew it together again done on the embroidery machine.
 The finished lunch bag.
To cute.
 Inside, with one pocket.
Enjoy Sis

Check Book Cover

In the hoop project.
Design by
AnitaGoodDesigns

 Adding personalization
This was suppose to be an ID holder, did not want
that so insred of cutting out the window, I put in my initials.

 Next to make the parts
all parts are made in the hoop on the machine

 First stitch the outline
the lay on the fabrics and let the machine work

Then put on the ID holder

Another part stitching out, this is the lining.

I won't bore you with all the parts being stitched out
here is the completed
checkbook cover

 The back
 The inside

Next up...a lunch bag
also a pincushion

Cute isn't it?

Applique Embroidery Chickens

Chickens OH MY

It feels so good to be back to work.

At 6 weeks now since that wrist injury, though
I am not at 100%.....I can work with my embroidery machine.

So, I wanted to finish up my
applique chickens.
Each has its own personality.

I got this set of patterns over at
Golden Needle Designs

How cute are these?

The process is really kinda neat.

Load the design, set thee colors

First the machine makes an outline

Cover the outline with fabric

machine stitches the outline again
trim off the excess
Then it finishes up the design.

Here are the rest of the chickens
So cute.

One day I hope to be able to create designs like this.

Embroidery-7 Days A Week Designs

Back to Work

It has been 5 1/2 weeks since I fell on the ice,
today I was finally able to  work on the embroidery machine.
It went good, besides I figured I don't get great sleep
because of the pain I still have
so might as well give it something more to hurt about.    LOL

I first had to work with some thread tension issues,
upon looking closely at the bobbin, and discovering the
bobbin was warped, I tossed it and got another.
Next cleaned the bobbin spring, ran a tension test and all is well again.

I was working on these towels, when the tension went out,
and I encountered the ice.

Finished them up today, here they are.

So good to have them done and a smooth run.

I think i will finish the applique roasters, next.

Am also working on my Ruffled Roses quilt,
Cowboy Carnavel is coming up and I need a quilt or two to put in the
quilt show.  Updates on this coming.

Until next time <3 br="">
